Is Province Still Being Built?

No. Province is built out. Meritage Homes finished the community at The Preserve at Province, its newest section, with one-story plans from about 1,300 to 2,300 square feet. There is no builder sales office and no new-construction inventory; every purchase in Province is a resale, and the newest homes come to market as near-new Preserve resales.
Build-out status
Province is complete. The Province Community Association puts the community at 2,045 homes at build-out, and the final Meritage phase is done. That changes the buying picture in one important way: there is no builder to compete with. Every home in Province, from the 2003 Engle core to the last Preserve closings, trades on the resale market, and the price of a near-new Preserve home is set by closed resales, not by a builder price sheet.
The Preserve at Province
The Preserve is the last section Meritage built, on streets such as Candlelight, Celebration, Confetti, Fiesta, Morning Glory, Anniversary, Hospitality, and Jubilee in Parcels 3, 10, and 12. Homes there closed from 2019 with the bulk in 2024 and 2025. They were built with Meritage's energy-efficiency package, spray-foam insulation, and design-package interiors, and they belong to the same Province Community Association and use the same Village Center, pools, courts, and lakes as the rest of the community.
The newest plans
The Preserve series recorded in the MLS: Bowie (about 1,324 to 1,351 square feet, three bedrooms), Isley (about 1,503 to 1,525), Mercury (about 1,612 to 1,636), Presley (about 1,681 to 1,719), Turner (about 1,906 to 1,946), and Redding (about 2,270 to 2,333, three bedrooms). All one story, two-car garages standard. The full catalog with every Engle and Meritage plan is on the plan catalog.
What near-new means for a buyer
A Preserve resale gives you a home a few years old with the current efficiency package and, in many cases, transferable builder warranty coverage on structural and system items; check the warranty documents for the specific home. It also usually comes with landscaping, window coverings, and a water softener the first owner added, which a new build would not have included. Preserve lots are mostly interior or greenbelt and smaller than the original Engle lots. Buyers wanting a lake lot or a three-car garage will look to the older parcels; see lake lots.
Newest section versus the original core
The Engle core (2003 to 2007) has the larger plans, the casita options, most of the waterfront, and twenty-year-old roofs and HVAC that may or may not have been replaced. The Meritage middle generations (2009 to 2023) sit between. The Preserve has the newest systems on the smallest lots. Inspection priorities differ by era, which is why the resale inspection points are organized by parcel. The full comparison is on the resale and new-build tradeoffs, the builder history on the two builders, and the community summary on the Province overview.
