Province has no golf course inside its gates. The Duke at Rancho El Dorado, a public, daily-fee, 18-hole, par-72 course designed by David Druzisky and opened in 2003, borders the community, and Province's resident golf club organizes play there. Inside Province, golf shows up as a putting group and a golf-cart culture, with many homes built with golf-cart garages.
The Duke at Rancho El Dorado
The Duke is the centerpiece course of the Rancho El Dorado master plan, at 42660 W. Rancho El Dorado Pkwy., Maricopa, AZ 85138, phone 480-844-1100. It is public and daily-fee, 18 holes, par 72, designed by David Druzisky and opened in 2003, with multiple tee sets from roughly 5,200 to 7,000 yards, a driving range, practice green, short-game area, club and cart rental, teaching professionals, and the Silver Spur Grill. The Santa Rosa Wash runs through the layout. Memberships are offered by the course; rates and terms are the course's and are not published here.
How residents use it
As public golfers or as members of the course, on the course's terms. The Province Golf Club, a resident group, organizes outings and league play. The course is outside the gates on the Rancho El Dorado side, so a round is a short drive or cart trip depending on the route and the course's cart policy.
Golf inside Province
Province was planned as a lake community, not a golf community, which is why the lakes are the landscape and the course is next door. Inside the gates there is a resident putting group and a golf-cart parade group, and golf carts are a normal way to get to the Village Center.
